Why should you join any group or association is a question heard more often nowadays than ever before. It is a legitimate question and it deserves a thoughtful, honest answer. Let us first define our terms. We are an organized association of African-Americans bound together by many ties and concerns. Customarily, we are part of a larger, national or international organization which includes in it’s membership other concerned African-Americans from all walks of life. We exist on the premise that a human being by nature is a social being with desires to associate with his fellow mankind. He cannot associate equally with all of them, but he may enjoy a close relationship with some of his mankind.
